1. Thiba Point

Visiting Thiba Point is a must because you can experience an astounding view of the Kajali River merging into Arabian Sea by the Bhatye bridge. You also have a children’s play area here and a food court. Keep in mind that there are lots of locals in the evening here. We recommend visiting 4-5 PM to make the most out of it and still experience the sunset.

2. Thiba Palace

The British built this palace between 1910-1911 as an exile location for the King Thiba of Myanmar. Within the palace, you can find a beautiful and simple artifact museum with great pieces from the beginning of the 20th century.

3. Bhatye Beach

Bhatye beach is blessed with mesmerizing views of the Arabian sea, a breezy ambiance and silvery sands that make it a perfect destination to relax. The length of the beach is approximately 1.5 km and is very flat and straight, ideal for walks, games and more.

4. Mandvi Beach

Mandvi Beach is another popular beach in Ratnagiri that’s abuzzed with locals. It is one of the most sought after evening picnic spots in the city. Owing to the presence of the bastion situated at the head of the bay, this beach is also known as Gateway to Ratnagiri.

5. Ratnadurga Fort

The Ratnadurga fort or Bhagwati fort is at a wonderful location. It is surrounded by sea on 3 sides & has a good elevation. This fort was built during the Bahamani period. Shivaji Maharaj won the fort from the hands of Adil Shah of Bijapur in 1670. The fort has Bhagawati temple, a pond and a well inside it.

6. Ratnagiri Lighthouse

The lighthouse in Ratnagiri is a sight to behold. What makes it great is the fact that it has an old-style British glass lamp machinery. Visiting time is around 4-5 PM. Do keep in mind that the circular staircase it has is very narrow, so it might be a bit tricky for some people.

8. Ratnagiri Fish Museum

Created back in 1985, the marine fish museum is the home for a plethora of beautiful specimens like eels, sea turtles, triggerfish, lionfish, sea horse fish, sea cucumbers, sea snakes and starfish, among many others. Aside from that, you will also get to see the old whale skeleton residing there, the animal had 5 tons and was 55 feet long.  Outside the building there is one small pond for aquatic research where one can have pleasure boating.

9. Lokmanya Tilak Birthplace

This is the ancestral home of freedom fighter Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak , which has now been converted into a small museum.
It is well maintained and has collections of photos and used items by Tilakji along with articles.

10. Ratnagiri Cave

This natural creation is a sight to behold. You can find the Ratnagiri caves at the Ratnadurga fort base, and this is a great place for all adventurers given the establishment of caving teams.
